Myths and Facts
Get the facts about natural insulation:
Myth: Natural Foam Insulation is not approved by New York State and is not fire rated.
Fact: It is approved by the International Code Council and the New York State Department of State. It is Class I Fire Rated.
Myth: It supports mold growth and animals will eat it.
Fact: It does not support mold growth and is not a food source for rodents or any animal.
Myth: It always requires roof ventilation.
Fact: No roof ventilation is needed in certain applications.
Myth: It disintegrates over time and does not perform as well as fiberglass.
Facts: It does not disintegrate over time or when exposed to moisture. It exceeds the performance of fiberglass across the board.
Insulation has a dramatic effect on the overall comfort, health, and safety of a home. Typical insulation materials, such as Fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, and perlite, allow air currents to penetrate into interior living spaces through gaps left during installation and through the insulation itself. This air infiltration results in inefficient heating and cooling, as well as moisture condensation in walls and ceilings that can lead to mold and mildew growth and poor indoor air quality.
Coler uses renewable and recycled insulation materials to make homes greener.
- Expands rapidly at installation to create an air-tight barrier that seals gaps
- Improves energy efficiency
- Helps to manage moisture to prevent condensation and mold growth
- Improves indoor air quality and is environmentally safe
